LAVA LAVA ISLAND
Vacation Bible Camp 2006
was
Hot! Hot! Hot!

The last of the palm trees and flowers have been put away and our volcano has left us overflowing with happy experiences from Vacation Bible Camp ’06. We had lots of Bible fun and a multitude of rich memories from our week at camp. Prayerfully our time together will keep us exploring deeper into our faith for a long time to come.

Every day of our adventure on Lava Lava Island was packed with activities designed to help the campers discover the joy of having Jesus’ love flow through them. Each day the campers had storytelling, they heard Bible stories and were given practical and relevant applications on how to apply it to their daily lives.

Every morning the campers walked through the doors of the Parish Hall that was transformed into a tropical oasis. Upon entering, the campers were greeted and swept away by caring VBC Volunteers to their daily activities of writing in their Journals, making and eating tasty treats, creating cool crafts, singing lively songs and playing games. All of which reinforced the daily Bible stories, Bible points and Bible verses.

Making a huge splash again this year is our 6th – 8th grade group called The F.I.S.H. (Followers In Service of Him). They went out into the community to do service projects. Any one of the kids in this group will tell you that it is in helping others that they are truly blessed.

Our mission project this year was The Church of Jesus Perigrino of the Dominican Republic. The campers took inventory of what they have and what they could offer to those who have so little. Our generous campers brought in money and filled boxes with supplies. In July we sent our missionaries to the DR with $239.50 and lots of supplies.

We had Fun & Celebrated the SON!
