The Power of Story

         Beginning:     Wednesday, September 12 – for 8 weeks

         Book:                    Conversations with Scripture: The Parables, by William Brosend

Come and discover the “power of story” in your life in the themes of growth, seeking, judgment,
decision and inclusion.
Books will be available in the Church Office by September 12.

Please join us in the exciting adventure of Daily Discipleship. Daily Discipleship is an online lectionary Bible study produced by the ELCA. Each session is available to be downloaded and copied for participants. The Bible Study is designed for small or large groups as well as personal devotions.

The objectives of Daily Discipleship are:
        To discover more about being a disciple of Jesus Christ
        To connect the Word of God with daily life experiences.
        To explore ways to deepen faith practices in everyday living.

Mid-week Bible Study

Wednesdays, 9:45 - 11 a.m.
October through August


"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." (Genesis 1:1) And how do we know this? CNN wasn't there to record it. Come to Bible Study and we'll attempt to unravel some of the mysteries of Genesis as we bring the Bible to life! Led by Joyce Liberty This is Joyce’s 6th year leading Bible Study. She is a graduate of Education for Ministry and is a licensed EFM mentor.

 


Education for Ministry (EFM)

Education for Ministry is a course developed by the University of the South School of Theology, an Episcopal seminary. Students enroll in the four-year course, making a commitment for a year at a time. First-year students study the Old Testament; second-year students study the New Testament; third-year participants read church history and fourth-year reads theology.

EFM meets on Tuesday evenings   September through May, 6:30 p.m.,  for 2 1/2 hours. The course is led by Diane Maltby, a licensed Mentor. If you have started the course in another place, you may enter the group at whatever year of study would be your next step.


Spirituality for Men and Women

The Men's Spirituality group meets at 6:30  p.m. on the third Monday of each month in Room 24/26 of the Christian Formation/Office Building. Attendees are asked to bring a brown-bag supper.

Women's Spirituality meets at 6:30 p.m. on the third Monday of the month, September through June, in the Parish Hall. A potluck supper kicks off each meeting. Bring a dish to share. Beverages are provided.
